Spectacular 2011 - What's your new year resolution?

Happy New Year to everyone in this earth!  :)
(But, as Muslim we do not celebrate 1st Jan as New Year (Gregorian calendar), but 1st Muharram (following Hijrian Calendar) instead.

When we are talking about new year, most of us will relate to the new resolutions right? Well, same goes to me. And usually, I have trouble to set up reso for myself, or i'll just prepare the list of it & keep it alive only in the month of Jan...hehehe. So, is there an effective ways to set or write your reso to keep you motivated throughout the year??

Well, if you are like me, (having problem in keeping or remembering your resolutions), there are lots of templates/tools available in internet that you can use to write and keep track of your reso's progress. (Google is a good source for this). But before you dive into the tracker, make sure you have nailed down exactly what you want to achieve.

The idea is by using S.M.A.R.T acronyms - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely.
·         Specific – Say “Jogging for at least 2 times a week” instead  of “Exercise more”.
·         Measurable – Decide to “Celebrate husband’s birthday in a fancy restaurant” instead of “Find a better plan to celebrate husband’s birthday” .
·         Achievable - Set something which is possible for you to achieve.  If you are a degree holder now, don’t set to finish your pHD next month.
·         Realistic – Set something realistic based on who you are and what you have on hand right now to help you achieve your goal. “To win Malaysian Idol” is less realistic if you never won any singing contest before. Plus, the judges is going to the toilet while you are singing.
·         Timely – As this is New Year resolutions, set deadlines for each of you reso to be within this year. Deadline will help you pushing yourself to your target.
You have 24 hours a day & 365 days to complete your goal.

Below is some of mine that I can think of right now  :)
·         To enrich my English vocabulary – at least 2 words every day.
·         To write in English – at least once a day.
·         To hug & kiss my husband & baby (I wish they know how much I love them) – at least once a day.
·         To go for travel & vacation (we can only afford local right now) – at least once in a year.
·         To have healthier lifestyle – jog at least once a week, to put on moisturizer to my skin every day,  to go   for facial treatment once in 3 months, to avoid fast food as much as I can….

Whether we forgot or breaks the reso we have set for ourselves last year, it’s somewhat healthy and good to think that we are thinking to be a better person than what we are now. Nobody’s perfect and things won’t always goes your way. So, think of a resolution or two and Good Luck.
